4 Asian expats arrested for drug trafficking

The Department of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, led by the police of the northern province of Batinah, arrested a gang of four persons for drug trafficking. An official source in Royal Oman Police said that the suspects, of an Asian nationality, smuggled the drugs by sea and hid them in Shinas and Suwaiq. ROP seized 21kg of cannabis and 1kg of heroin and 3kg of opium poppy and ppsychotropic substances.


The defendants were referred to the judicial authorities to complete the investigation.


ROP called on everyone to cooperate more and inform the police about any acts of narcotics and psychotropic substances through Hotline 1444 or Emergency Phone 9999.
